Frank Santos - Posthumously Inducted April 25, 2026

Picture
For more than 30 years, Frank Santos captivated audiences across Rhode Island, throughout New England, and nationwide with his renowned R-rated comedy hypnotist show. Performing everywhere from colleges and comedy clubs to casinos and private events, he created unforgettable experiences by turning audience members into the true stars of the show.

One of Rhode Island’s hardest-working entertainers, Frank was known for his relentless schedule—often performing several shows a week, and sometimes multiple shows in a single night at different venues. He became a resident comic at many of New England’s most popular comedy destinations, including Periwinkles in Providence, The Kowloon in Saugus, Comedy Connection in East Providence, and Catch a Rising Star at Twin River Casino, among others.

In the early days of Periwinkles, it was considered a rite of passage for up-and-coming local comedians to open for Frank. Widely described as having a big heart and no ego, he took genuine joy in giving new performers their first opportunity to take the stage in front of large audiences.

Frank also traveled extensively, bringing his act to venues across the country, including regular appearances in Las Vegas, where he performed at The Riviera several times each year. He even appeared on the daytime TV show In Person with Maureen O'Boyle in 1997

Frank passed away unexpectedly in 2009 at the age of 60. A native of Cumberland and a proud Rhode Islander, he left behind a lasting legacy in the world of comedy—both locally and far beyond.
