Danny Smith - Inducted February 11, 2023

Danny Smith, originally from Smithfield, Rhode Island, is a Hollywood writer, producer, and voiceover artist.

A graduate of Rhode Island College, where he got his start writing comedy with a regular comic strip in the school newspaper The Anchor that he also illustrated called Joe Flynn and his Dog Spot. Which was about a man and his best friend, a talking dog. Something that totally prepared him for his current job as a writer on the TV show Family Guy.

Danny is known as the only writer on the show who is actually from Rhode Island, where the show is set. Although creator Seth MacFarlane did spend some time in the Ocean State while attending Rhode Island School of Design.

Danny has been working with Family Guy since its inception and has written dozens of episodes and also voice characters like Ernie The Giant Chicken and the Evil Monkey and written several of the show's memorable songs like Prom Night Dumpster Baby and Drunken Irish Dad. He's also been nominated for 11 Emmy Awards and a Grammy.

Before his work with Family Guy Danny spent some time working as a stand-up comedian and improv comic in L.A. training with The Groundlings. And he earned some writing credits on several sit-coms as well including Nurses, 3rd Rock From The Sun, Yes, Dear, and Head of the Class.
